A wild, beautiful, peaceful ADVENTURE!

I am SO excited to invite you to join me for a magical retreat on the island of Kauai.

November 15th-21st 2019

Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai is the oldest, least developed, and fourth largest of the Hawaiian Islands.   Sometimes referred to as the Garden Island; this is manifested in the vast mountainsides, healing sun,  tropical rainforests, and tranquil beaches that surround the island.   Kauai is the perfect place to reconnect to your soul, deepen your practice, and set intentions for what your wish to manifest!

If you haven’t yet been, Kauai is a lush, beautiful, majestic place!

Spiritual seekers call each of the Hawaiian islands as it corresponds to one of the seven chakras. Kauai, in particular, is known as the island of intuition, connected with your third eye, the place of inner knowing and clear seeing.

The outer beauty – insanely gorgeous mountains, streams, crystal waters.. You will feel connected to a very healing, beautiful place as you surrender to the healing nature of the island..

The daily yoga and meditation practices offered will come from that place draw on the healing powers of the island… reconnecting to intuition, clear seeing, and inner sanctuary space.

All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome, all backgrounds, all open-minded, kind people seeking an easy, extraordinarily beautiful, and transformative experience.

I do ask that you have some kind of  regular practice and can make time at home or at a studio to practice at least once a week leading up to the retreat, as this will just make it more enjoyable for you. Most who come on the retreat practice ‘a bit’ and enjoy yoga, but are not advanced 🙂

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Welcome To Paradise

Come enjoy a once in a lifetime experience.

The retreat house is a spiritual paradise, a very unique place in Kauai. It is a traditional Hawaiian Plantation situated with the Namahana Mountain range as your backdrop. I invite you to fulfill your tropical dream vacation on this very private and tranquil 5 acre estate.

Imagine waking up to a bright sunny day, stepping out of your master suite onto the lanai and enjoying the breathtaking view of Palm Trees and a Mahogany Forest. Walk down through the citrus grove and pick unlimited oranges, tangerines, grapefruit or tangelos and make fresh squeezed juices to start your day. Step beyond the property onto 500 acres of trails for you to explore at your leisure. Walk, jog or bike to a magnificent waterfall in a park like setting. Then cool off in the beautiful pool or perhaps a workout in our very own fitness room. Afterwards relax with a book by the pond while a small waterfall feature cascades through a tropical garden. Perhaps some meditation by the Buddha Sculpture. As you walk back to the house, grab an avocado or coconut to snack on later. All this, without ever stepping into a car. Just a typical day at our 5 acre Hawaiian Plantation!

The back yard includes direct access to a 500 acre nature preserve with 5 miles of easily walkable trails and a spectacular man made waterfall park called the Stone Dam. The trails are designed in a loop, allowing guests to choose either a 5-8 km path. For avid runners, you could not ask for a more perfect setting to train.

There is acres of fruit trees. Guests can gather bananas, papaya, avocados, lychee, macadamia nuts, mongo, tangelos and starfruit when in season. There are also orange and grapefruit trees just waiting to provide fresh squeezed juice to start your day.

We have the choice of practicing yoga indoors with a private heated studio or a covered outdoor platform ideal for morning meditation, afternoon yoga or to read a book while birds serenade you in a garden setting. Just outside the yoga studio is a pond with a waterfall feature and a covered platform ideal for meditation, yoga, or to relax & read your favourite book in a peaceful tropical setting.

The house has bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, boogey boards, snorkel gear and every other beach accessary that is appropriate for Kauai. Electronics include Smart TV’s throughout(not that we will be watching any t.v). Behind the home is direct access to the Wai Koa Loop, 500 acres filled with miles of trails and the Stone Dam Waterfall.

Hi, I’m Anna. Passionate Chef and Recipe creator of Simple Spoon Twisted Fork. I have a love for all things beautiful, clean, and delicious. A (healthy) obsession for plants and all things rainbow has fueled and inspired me to transform ordinary every day vegetables into an extraordinary culinary experience, where your health and flavor are NEVER compromised! In fact, one of my longest standing motto’s is ‘You can have your cake and eat it too.’

Although I am well known for Vegan, Plant Based, and Raw, I honestly prefer to be free of labels and limiting diets. I wish to inspire…let’s say Live It! They say ‘You are what you eat’, so let’s eat clean, eat whole, and eat local…and enjoy doing it right??

If I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me bending and flowing with yoga, running, soaking up the sun and enjoying all of nature.

I fully express my creative potentials through my food, and offer it from the depths of my heart. I feel so blessed to have traveled around the world feeding many beautiful souls at a variety of retreat centers.

Allow your senses to open to the mouth watering culinary creations, made from 100% pure love, and organic ingredients from truly whole foods. You just may leave with a new found love for these beautiful vibrant gifts of nature. Come…Let’s eat more plants, and do more yoga!

The Ideal purpose of life is that you are great and full, that you are alive and you enjoy it- Yogi Bhajan

Andrea’s Yoga class styles will be a combination of Hatha Slow Flows, Vinyasa, Yin/Yang and Restorative. The morning classes will be a dynamic Vinyasa Flow and allow for a fluid transition and continuous flow from posture to posture. Vinyasa is a creative way to open the body and requires focus and dedication. Both short and longer holds of poses help you to engage your awareness of the movement and breath connection. Each part of the body (inside and out) will be explored and worked in a deep and mindful way with focus on the chakras. The word Chakra literally translates to wheel or disk. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. There are seven main chakras, which align the spine, starting from the base of the spine through to the crown of the head. To visualize a chakra in the body, imagine a swirling wheel of energy where matter and consciousness meet. This invisible energy, called Prana, is vital life force, which keeps us vibrant, healthy, and alive.  Our morning and evening classes will have a direct link to each major chakra and potential energy blockages we may hold. Awareness to which of your chakras are out of balance is key to aligning them. Our bodies are in constant flux between balance and imbalance. Unless you have an apparent problem in one area of the body, imbalances can be difficult to detect. That being said, it’s good to bring awareness to your body/mind and start to learn its signals and clues.

The afternoon classes will be either a Hatha Slow Flow, bringing balance, strength, and a sense of well-being to the practitioner and is a holistic yogic path including: postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), and meditation— these classes will build heat, and be meditative at the same time OR Yin style of long-held passive poses target the connective tissues in the joints and spine, allowing the body more flexibility while also engendering a more contemplative, non-reactive quality of mind. This class is suitable for beginners with little or no yoga experience, however, the most experienced yoga practitioner will also be challenged as sometimes less is more. You will be guided through each pose slowly and mindfully as you build a stronger body while releasing tension. Explore deepening your breath and how it anchors you in your body, helping you to live more in the present moment. When we take time, our nervous systems relax, our minds slow down, our muscles become supple, our breath deepens – our inner chemistry shifts towards a biological balance, which one experiences as peace and tranquility, the union of your mind and body.
